Let's start off with the fact that we have some real concerns with this company. Careers
Plus Resumes, or their abbreviated CPResumes.com, initially scored well with a reasonable
price and a decent guarantee. But our concerns (jump to those concerns, now) have clouded the positives in our
view.

The Writing Process:

Choose either the Resume Writing option if you need a resume built from scratch, or the
Resume Editing/Revamp if you have an existing resume that simply needs tweaking. The
latter will save you about $50.00. Additional add-on options are available, including cover letter,
web resume, LinkedIn profile, and rush delivery. Place your order.

Complete an online questionnaire and upload/fax an existing resume, if available. You'll be
assigned a resume writer.
|
|
You'll be contacted by your writer, who will supposedly arrange a one-on-one
consultation. Note: In the fine print of the Terms of Service, an email qualifies as a
"consultation." So be forewarned; if you really want to speak with your writer, better make sure
that's clear before signing up for the service. |

You'll receive a first draft via email within 24-48 hours. If everything is good, download the
attachments (Word, PDF and ASCII file formats) and save them to your computer. If revisions are
needed, you've got 90 days of free editing.

The Better Business Bureau notes a "pattern of complaint" for this company ranging from
poor customer service to resumes not being delivered within the specified time frames and
difficulty dealing with company management. Worse, according to some of the complaints
posted, finished resumes contained typos, grammatical errors and boilerplate language that did
no favors for the client. Those who wish can read for themselves:

The internet is fairly littered with comparable complaints. To see what I mean, simply
Google the name of the firm followed by "complaints." |

The company promises "free revisions until you're satisfied." Really? Among other
conditions, the company's fine print says they may impose "additional fees" if you request a
revision after 60 days, or if you request a complete rewrite at any time. |
Careers Plus Resumes - Review Summary:
A slick website and reasonable pricing doesn't make up for the unusual volume of dissatisfied
customers we find on respected, 3rd party sites like the BBB. We give customer complaints a
lot of weight in these matters, and would advise prospective clients to think twice before signing
on with this company.
We can't in all good conscience issue a recommendation, here. As with all of our
