For those on a budget, Resumes Planet seems compelling; for less than a hundred bucks, get
a resume built from scratch. All work is claimed to be done by writers belonging to the
Professional Association of Resume Writers, an industry trade organization. And to sweeten the deal
even further, the company guarantees you'll receive at least one interview within 30 days.
So why only one star? Well, two reasons. First, writing quality. It simply isn't there.
That is, if the resume samples posted at the Planet's website are any indication. And secondly, a
Better Business Bureau rating of "F" coupled with the nature of some of those complaints
posted on the BBB site.
There are a number of other issues with this company, as well (see what we

The Writing Process:

Navigate to the category that best fits your work history: entry level, professional, career
change, executive, military or federal. Fill in their order form, and send in your career
information. They will ask you to upload your current resume, if you have one.

Communicate with your assigned writer either via phone or messaging system.
|

You'll receive your finished resume within 72 hours in four formats: WORD, electronic, scannable
and web. If you need to make a change or correction to the resume, message your writer and it will
usually be taken care of in a matter of hours.

The company guarantees your satisfaction--and at least one interview. At the end of 30 days if
you haven't received an interview invitation, you can request a resume re-write.

While it's claimed all writers are members of an industry association, not
all writers hold industry certification. Some might, but some (and perhaps most?)
don't. |

A detailed, one-on-one telephone interview is not in the cards. Instead, the writer
gathers the necessary information via the online form you fill out, and your uploaded resume. Yes,
you can communicate with your writer via phone and messaging, but a full-blown interview is not
modus operandi. (Hint: we have a bias toward telephone interviews). |

Resume samples posted on the company website indicate a far lesser quality of
workmanship than those of our 4 and 5-star companies. Admittedly, those 4 and 5-star companies
charge more for their services. |

If the marketing copy on the company's website is any indication,
then many if not most of the writers are ESL (English as a Second Language)
individuals. Not good if you're a U.S. job seeker. |

Finally, the Better Business Bureau is not impressed with the company nor their parent. They
give the company an "F" rating, and the parent, operating as Universal Research LLC, a rating
of "No Rating" because they believe that firm to be out of business. Read for yourself:

Resumes Planet - Review Summary:
For the budget conscious, hoping to get a professionally competitive resume for less than a
hundred bucks is the dream. Keep on dreaming. For this company, you get what you pay for
-- a resume that will get you nowhere. Sadly, too many paying customer found out the hard
way: the number of complaints filed against this company's parent, and the lack of
response to those complaints, generated a F rating from the Better Business Bureau until
it went to "No Rating" because the company appears to them (the BBB) to be out of business. So,
this is certainly not a recommended choice. As with all of our reviews, this is our opinion.
